Despite the victory, Liverpool remains eighth in the Premier League, but they have some clubs in their sights.

On Monday evening, Liverpool convincingly won their away match against Leeds United with a score of 1-6. Cody Gakpo scored his fifth goal in the Premier League at Elland Road, while Diogo Jota finally found the net again.
After facing Real Madrid (1-0 loss), Manchester City (4-1 loss), Chelsea (0-0), and Arsenal (2-2), Liverpool finally had a relatively easy game on the schedule. The Reds proved to be deadly effective in Leeds. After a difficult first half-hour, Gakpo opened the scoring with a tap-in from a pass by Trent Alexander-Arnold. A few minutes later, Mohamed Salah also put the ball behind goalkeeper Illan Meslier.
Leeds United, with Pascal Struijk, Rasmus Kristensen, and Luis Sinisterra in the starting lineup, pulled one back shortly after the break. The latter took full advantage of a mistake by Ibrahim Konaté and brought the tension back into the game. However, the hope of the home team was quickly extinguished when Jota scored his first goal since April 10, 2022, restoring the two-goal lead.
The early decision in the game came in the 64th minute when Salah scored his second of the night from a pass by Gakpo. Liverpool, with Virgil van Dijk on the field for ninety minutes, even extended their lead to 1-6. First, Jota increased the party mood by scoring his second of the season, followed by Darwin Nuñez also contributing a goal.
Despite the victory, Liverpool remains eighth in the Premier League, but they have some clubs in their sights. With a strong finish, even the top four is still within reach. However, they will have to bridge a gap of nine points to fourth-placed Newcastle United.
