Despite the Threat of a Doping Ban, Pogba Remains Hopeful: 'He is Optimistic'

Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba has been waiting for a month and a half for a potential doping punishment, but in the meantime, he is preparing for a comeback. In September, it was revealed that the Frenchman had returned a positive doping test.

Pogba tested positive for the use of testosterone after the match against Udinese on August 20, and about a month later, he was provisionally suspended. Pogba requested a second opinion, but the second doping diagnosis also came back positive.

In the meantime, Juventus has frozen Pogba's salary, who has been waiting for the verdict in his doping case since that news. The Frenchman could be banned for four years if it is proven that he deliberately took the banned substance, but Italian media expect that he will be suspended for two years.

Nevertheless, the thirty-year-old Pogba is hopeful, as reported by his agent Rafaela Pimenta. 'He is optimistic and working hard,' she says on Sky Sport Italia. 'He is preparing, and when it is possible, he will be ready.'
