Álvaro Domínguez, former footballer developed at the 'colchoneros', criticized the recent statements of the Portuguese forward.

Álvaro Domínguez, the 34-year-old former Spanish international, commented on João Félix's recent statements about Atlético Madrid, the club that launched this former center-back developed in the 'colchonera' youth academy.
'When they pay that price for you [120 million euros] when you're still so young, it's never good. Moreover, at Atlético Madrid, you have to be a soldier for 'Cholo' [Diego Simeone].
For 120 million euros, you're not prepared for that,' began the former footballer in an interview with 'Marca,' who retired at the age of 27 due to numerous injuries.
Álvaro Domínguez was also asked to comment on the case of the Portuguese with that of Antoine Griezmann, the French forward who in 2019 left the Madrid club for Barcelona – the same club where the Portuguese is defending this season on loan – for 120 million euros, but a few years later, returned to Atlético, where he still remains.
'The difference is in the attitude. In all clubs, you go through good and bad moments, but I believe he [João Félix] was not well advised by the people around him. When a club pays 120 million for you, there are certain things you can't say. You 'kill' the club and show the football world your attitude,' he concluded.
