French media: PSG identifies ideal successor to Messi at Manchester City

Lionel Messi is not gone yet, but Paris Saint-Germain is already busy planning his succession. Bernardo Silva (Manchester City) is high on the list, as reported by L'Équipe and Le Parisien.

Silva wants to leave Manchester City this summer. He has been consistently linked to FC Barcelona, but PSG seems to be the frontrunner for his signature. L'Équipe and Le Parisien consider him as their "number one priority" at Parc des Princes.

PSG is likely bidding farewell to Messi, while the future of Neymar and Hugo Ekitiké is also uncertain. It's no secret that Luis Campos is highly fond of Silva. In 2014, the sporting director brought his compatriot to AS Monaco, and they still maintain close contact.

Silva is an important player for Manchester City but seems to be growing tired of life in England. Paris appeals to him more, and he already spends a significant amount of his free time in the French capital. Pep Guardiola previously impeded his departure, so there is a possibility that City will try to retain him, considering his contract runs until mid-2025.
