Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola became slightly irritated at the press conference after the top match against Liverpool (1-1). This was due to questions about a possible punishment for his club for breaking financial rules.

In the Premier League, Everton has already been penalized, and immediately the focus shifted to Man City. An investigation has also been launched into the reigning champions. Guardiola was displeased that the discussion was about this investigation. 'Your line of questioning implies that we have already been punished. At this moment, we are innocent until proven guilty.'

Guardiola does not contemplate leaving the potentially sinking ship. 'I am not going to think about my future here, I won’t let it depend on whether we play in League One or the Premier League.'
The Spanish successful coach even goes a step further. 'There is a greater chance that I will stay if we play in League One, than if we win the Champions League.' However, there is little to suggest that Man City will be relegated to the third level of English football. Being removed from the Premier League is an option, but is seen as an unlikely punishment in the English media. Everton received a ten-point deduction earlier this month.
