Kudus is fed up with the situation at Ajax and wants to force a transfer to the Premier League

Mohammed Kudus has informed Ajax of his intention to leave after this season. According to The Athletic, the forward had the option to extend his current contract, which runs until mid-2025, by another year back in April. However, Kudus declined Ajax's proposal and is determined to leave Amsterdam during the upcoming summer.

The upcoming match against FC Twente on Sunday could potentially be Kudus' last game in an Ajax shirt. The forward has attracted interest from various Premier League clubs in previous transfer windows, but Ajax has thus far refused to facilitate his departure. The Amsterdam club is aware that Kudus will no longer be sustainable, especially as his contract's expiration date draws nearer.

According to The Athletic, Arsenal, Manchester United, and even Newcastle United are interested in acquiring Kudus from Ajax in the upcoming summer transfer window. However, these Premier League clubs will need to meet Ajax's financial demands to secure the 22-year-old Ghanaian's services. The news outlet reports that Ajax is asking for a fee of €46 million for Kudus, and this amount could rise significantly as more clubs express their interest in Amsterdam.

For Ajax, the upcoming summer could be the last opportunity to cash in on Kudus. If the Amsterdam club fails to secure Champions League football in the final matchday, the market value of Kudus could quickly decline. Currently, the 21-time international has an estimated market value (xTV) of €15.7 million, which is also influenced by factors such as contract duration. If Kudus remains loyal to the club next summer, the expiration of his contract will also draw nearer. To maximize the transfer value of Kudus, this upcoming summer may be the last chance for Ajax to do so.
