With his brace (61’ from a penalty and 89’) at Barcelona's home on Tuesday, in the rout that led PSG to the Champions League semi-finals (4-1, 6-4 on aggregate), Kylian Mbappé entered the top-10 all-time top scorers of the competition.

At 25 years old, the French forward, who is touted as a guaranteed signing for Real Madrid next season on a free transfer, has now scored a total of 48 goals in the Champions League, tying the records of Andriy Shevchenko and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who are joint ninth on the list.

Additionally, Mbappé has reached 15 away goals in the elite competition, surpassing his compatriot Karim Benzema's mark of 14. Only the inevitable Cristiano Ronaldo, the all-time leading scorer of the Champions League with 23 goals, is ahead of him.

It is worth noting that with these two goals conceded, Barcelona has become the preferred "victim" of the French star in a European context, following Mbappé's hat-trick against the Catalans in 2021, also in the second leg of the Champions League quarter-finals, although that match was in Paris.

According to the statistics platform Opta, only Thomas Muller, forward for Bayern Munich, has scored more goals against Barcelona (eight) in Europe's premier football competition.

Here is the top-10 all-time top scorers of the Champions League:

1. Cristiano Ronaldo – 140 goals

2. Lionel Messi – 129

3. Robert Lewandowski – 94

4. Karim Benzema – 90

5. Raúl González - 71

6. Ruud van Nistelrooy – 56

7. Thomas Muller, 54

8. Thierry Henry – 50

9. Zlatan Ibrahimovic/Kylian Mbappé/ Andriy Shevchenko – 48

10. Filippo Inzaghi - 46
