Arsenal falls through the ice: 'It has just been too much'

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta saw a team that wasn't themselves against Brighton & Hove Albion. His team lost 0-3 and can forget about the title with still three games to go. It's a shame, because Arsenal was doing so well.

Arsenal were humiliated by Brighton on their own turf. 'We knew the challenges we faced. They were completely different challenges to the ones we had against Newcastle United. I was very proud of the team then, but today we have to apologise. We have to look at ourselves in the mirror and evaluate what went wrong.

It needs to happen quickly, because we don't want to hold on to this feeling for long,' Arteta told ViaPlay.

Sky Sports analyst Gary Neville thinks the title is going to Manchester City. Pep Guardiola's team only needs one more win. 'That's it, the title race is over,' he said on Sky. 'Arsenal have had an excellent season, but it has just been too much. However bad Arsenal were, Brighton deserves all the credit. They were fantastic. Physically and mentally, it was as if Arsenal had just played a European game. It looked lethargic and like the ideas had run out, but we can't be too hard on Arsenal.'
