Luis Suárez is on his way to the exit at the Brazilian Grêmio. The now 36-year-old striker has a expiring contract and it has now been confirmed that he will leave after his contract ends. A much-discussed reunion with Lionel Messi is looming.
It's no secret that Messi and Suárez have built a very strong bond from their joint time at Barcelona, and when Messi left for the United States, the connection between the two was quickly made. The interest was even confirmed from Inter Miami, but Grêmio did not want to cooperate with a transfer.
Now, half a year later, as Suárez's contract is running out, the signals seem to be on green for a reunion between Messi and Suárez. 'At the end of this year, he will leave us. We will miss him, because he is an irreplaceable player,' Grêmio coach Renato Gaucho revealed. Suárez has been playing in Brazil since the beginning of this year, scoring a total of seventeen goals for the Brazilians.
For Inter Miami, the season is almost over. The club has two more matches in Major League Soccer, but that will be it. Due to a defeat against FC Cincinnati, it is already clear that Inter Miami cannot reach the play-offs for the national title.
