Hedwiges Maduro is the successor of Alex Pastoor at Almere City FC. The 39-year-old former international will be presented on Monday afternoon as the new head coach of the Eredivisie debutant from Flevoland. Maduro signs for two years.

Last month, it became apparent that Hedwiges Maduro was the frontrunner for the head coach position at Almere City FC.
Maduro, a seasoned professional with a substantial playing history at clubs like Ajax, Sevilla, and Valencia, had previously spent a year and a half coaching under Alex Pastoor at Yanmar Stadium. Following his tenure there, he joined Ajax to assist Maurice Steijn.
After his year-long stint with Ajax, Maduro is making his return to Almere City, where he previously oversaw the development of the club's reserve team. While at Ajax, Maduro had various coaching opportunities, such as leading Jong Ajax, but he opted for the challenge of managing in the Eredivisie on his own terms. This decision came into focus especially after serving as Ajax's interim coach following Steijn's departure.
With Almere City and Ajax reaching a consensus on buying out the remaining duration of Maduro's contract, his path to becoming Almere City's head coach is now clear. As he steps into this role, Maduro is tasked with continuing and enhancing the legacy of his predecessor, Alex Pastoor.
Pastoor had led the team to an historic promotion and successfully helped the team establish themselves in the Eredivisie, demonstrating resilience and strategic prowess.
