Barcelona was set to play a friendly match against Juventus on Saturday, but a stomach virus within the Catalan team disrupted their plans. Not only did they miss out on getting into their rhythm, but the cancellation against the Old Lady also cost the club millions.

President Joan Laporta informed Marca that Barcelona wanted to reschedule the match to Monday, but due to a concert by superstar Taylor Swift, it proved to be impossible. As a result, the cancellation has significant financial implications. They will have to refund or write off expenses related to tickets, advertising revenue, merchandise, and other matters.
The initial estimate is that it will cost Barcelona two million euros, a heavy blow for the Catalans who have been facing economic challenges for some time. Consequently, the club often focuses on acquiring free transfer players like Ilkay Gündogan and Iñigo Martínez.
The Spaniards are currently on a tour of the United States as part of the Soccer Champions Tour, which also includes the participation of Real Madrid, Arsenal, Manchester United, and AC Milan. Wednesday's match against Arsenal is scheduled. Barcelona expressed optimism about being able to play again on that day, as stated in an official statement by the club.
