Juventus clears space for dream signing Koopmeiners

Teun Koopmeiners has become one of the cornerstones of Serie A. Atalanta Bergamo cherishes the playmaker, who seems to be becoming indispensable for the club after this season. According to Italian reports, a transfer has come one step closer in the past week.

The midfielder of the Dutch national team is in blazing form. In the past five Serie A matches he played, Koopmeiners scored every time.

Among these opponents were top teams like AS Roma and AC Milan, who struggled against Atalanta due to Koopmeiners' goals. This has once again made it clear in Italy: the former AZ player is a must-have.

The fact that several top Premier League clubs, as well as Napoli and Juventus, are eyeing Koopmeiners is nothing new. According to Tuttosport, however, the Old Lady has now created the firepower to push through. Juventus is in the process of filling their pockets, and it seems to be happening quickly.

Double deal creates firepower

The Italian media reports that the Bianconeri can offload two players in the short term: Kaio Jorge and Arthur. Jorge, the striker who was loaned to Frosinone and scored three times in Serie A this season, could move to Benfica. In Portugal, the Brazilian is seen as a raw diamond, and they are willing to pay millions to lure him away from Turin.

Arthur is also said to be on Benfica coach Roger Schmidt's wishlist. The midfielder, on loan at Fiorentina, has flourished. The Brazilian is having a fantastic season and could be part of a double deal with the Portuguese club. Juventus believes they could pocket a whopping 35 million euros for the duo.

Back to Koopmeiners, as a deal with Benfica could have immediate consequences for the Dutchman. Koopmeiners' entourage has already spoken with Juventus, and Koopmeiners would be open to a transfer. However, Atalanta's price tag, reportedly between 65 and 70 million euros, has been too steep so far.

If Juventus manages to finalize the deal with Schmidt, it seems logical that Koopmeiners will be removed from Juventus' wishlist. Especially since Adrien Rabiot is leaving the club. The departure of the Frenchman would free up a spot in the top club's midfield.
