Barcelona loanee João Félix will earn significantly more for the remainder of the season in Catalonia. The Portuguese player gave up a multi-million salary when he temporarily left Atlético Madrid, but this has been rectified by Barcelona as per the agreement.

Despite the financial problems, Barcelona managed to secure the loan signing of João Félix this summer, but it required a financial sacrifice from the player. According to Mundo Deportivo, the club's leadership confirmed that João Félix, instead of the estimated six million he was earning at Atlético, would earn less than half a million per season at Barcelona.
Since his arrival at Barça in September, the initial agreement was for João Félix to earn approximately 400,000 for the remainder of the season. The club did express the intention to significantly increase his salary once the financial situation allowed. A month and a half later, that is now the case, as Spanish media reports that the forward's salary has been multiplied by ten.
It's noteworthy that this substantial increase of 3.6 million has no impact on La Liga's financial assessment. A committee had made an estimate of João Félix's salary during the time of the loan deal, and this estimate of four million remains in the books of the Spanish league organizer.
In recent years, Barcelona has employed several accounting tricks to stay afloat financially.
